This Royal villa has in Holland the titel "House of the Princes" and remains in possession of the Portuguese royal family. The villa is located in the western part of the Algarve, on the cliffs of Ferragudo. It has fabulous views to the west over the bay of Lagos and Sagres, where the sun sets. It has views over the tranquil waters of the Algarve coast where yachts and fishing boats find their way into the harbor. At a distance it overlooks the Praia Rocha beach which is well known to many visitors to the Algarve in Portugal.

Solar Real was renovated and adapted to modern standards, including wifi-internet. There are 9 bedrooms, all with private bathrooms for up to 19 people, spread over three floors of the building. The original furniture of the house is restored and the rooms were renovated in a contemporary style while retaining the original beds, decorated with family weapons. Outside there are large terraces and a swimming pool overlooking the sea. A downstairs bar and toilets are available as is a pool shower.

Ground Floor: main lounge overlooking the terrace and overlooking the sea, with a beautiful grand piano.
Hall and cloakroom. Double doors leading to a private chapel. Formal dining room with 8 seats around the main table, and another 8 - 10 at two round tables. The breakfast room is usually used for children's meals.
The terrace has a retractable sun canopy and tables for outdoor dining, suitable for 16 people. Music room with a cd-player and comfortable chairs. The kitchen has recently been modernized. 2 double bedrooms with en-suite shower / bath rooms. Sea views and doors opening onto the terraces. 1 bedroom with two single beds with en-suite shower / bath room. Sea views and doors opening onto the terraces. 1 bedroom with twin beds overlooking the garden and doors opening onto a terrace overlooking the river.
Lower ground floor: television room. Bar, wardrobe. 1 bedroom with three single beds for children (small beds) with private bathroom and sitting area. Doors from the lounge to the pool terrace. For groups of 10 or less, only the ground floor will be used.
First floor: 1 bedroom with two single beds with en-suite bath / shower rooms. Garden. 1 double bedroom with en-suite bath / shower rooms. Rollaway bed, only suitable for young children. Garden. 1 bedroom with two single beds with en-suite bathroom and a sitting room, which leads to another bedroom with twin beds. Sea views and doors leading to terrace.

- Playroom for children in the former garage, with table tennis.
- Pool is 12.5 meters by 5 meters and the maximum depth is 1.40 m it has Roman steps at the shallow end.
- Laundry room with two washing machines. Drying area.
- Cots and highchairs: 2 cots and 2 highchairs are available for children.
- Elevator - The house has an elevator that can be turned on at arrival and departure (luggage) and off during the stay of customers, for security reasons (children).
- Smoking: The owners of the house do not smoke, but people wishing to smoke can do so in the television room downstairs or outside and at the terraces and balconies.
- Wifi-internet access is available on request at an additional cost per week of 25 euros.

Staff: D. Regina, the housekeeper, regulates the cleaning of the house during the week and works at the villa for more than 25 years and was housekeeper to the princess to her death. There is also a gardener. Mr. Porfirio.

- House cleaning on weekdays from 09:30 - 16:30 (Regina D.). D. Regina's primary task is to clean the house and washing the linen. All rooms, public areas and bathrooms are cleaned and tidied once a day (weekdays).
- Gardener (Mr. Porfirio) from 09:30 - 14:00, on weekdays. Swimming pool and terraces are cleaned weekdays from 7:00 to 8:00
- Meals D. Regina and her staff can prepare simple dinners during the week, with payment for the time. Cost is paid directly to her. Customers must provide the ingredients.
- Telephone: The house has an automatic internal telephone system with automatic registration of the cost of calls. Payment before departure, directly to D. Regina.
- Heating: The house has central heating for winter use.
- Swimming pool heating - solar heating available at extra charge of 200 Euros per week
- Air-conditioning: During the restoration of the house was found that no air conditioning is needed in this property because the house cools down via sea breezes and the Portuguese trade winds. The housekeeper controls the shutters in order to prevent direct sunlight to enter the unit.

- The beach is 50 meters away. The property is adjacent to a sandy beach. A few steps lead to the beach.
- Portimão, 2 km upstream on the other side of the river, with a nice harbor.
- A walk along the beach of Forte de S. Joao, or along the road brings you to the waterfront village of Ferragudo, undoubtedly one of the jewels of the Algarve coast
- We recommend a lunch or dinner in the small restaurants on the quay - fresh fish cooked on charcoal.
